About Art Therapy

Art therapy enriches the lives of individuals,
families, and communities, through active art-making, creative process, applied
psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.

In simpler terms, it is using art to help unlock things about ourselves with the ultimate goals
of fostering self-esteem and self-awareness, promoting insight, and distressing.

Often times, art therapy is implemented as an alternative form of communication– a nonverbal
one.

Unleash your inner artist

Project description: In this abstract painting session I will be sharing with you my personal techniques that I have used in my painting journey.  These techniques have changed my entire reality and have also revolutionized my creative thought-process and the way I see life as a whole.  I can’t wait for you to create your very own abstract masterpiece.

Zentangles

Project description:  A Zentangle drawing is an abstract drawing created using repetitive patterns– almost like a complex doodling strategy. 

 

 

 

Scribble Drawing

Project description: I will draw a random squiggle in the middle of a blank piece of paper. You will use your imagination to incorporate the squiggle into a drawing. 

Therapeutic/ expressionary value

 This project is really quick and open ended, thus encouraging you to think spontaneously and with a wild imagination. The project is very stress-free so you can do this just to warm up or just to get your mind going.
