I’m so excited to be here today, sharing my love of painting with you. Painting has been a passion of mine for years now, and I hope that some of my tips will help you get started in your own artistic endeavors.

Acrylic painting is a fun and easy way to get started making art. Here are some tips to help you get started:

BRUSHES

1. Always use the right brushes for the job. You can find brushes at any craft or art store, but if you’re just getting started, we recommend starting with these three: a small brush for details, a medium brush for larger areas of color, and a large brush for blending colors together.

When using a brush, dip it in water first before starting. This will help prevent paint from drying in the bristles.

CANVAS

2. If you’re using acrylic paint on canvas or wood panels, make sure to use gesso (a white primer) first! It will help protect your canvas from getting damaged by the acrylic paint and give it better adhesion.

Use a spray bottle filled with water and spritz your canvas before applying paint—it’ll keep your colors bright and vibrant!

PALETTE KNIFE

3. A good palette knife is key to having a good painting session. It will help you blend colors smoothly and cleanly, cutting down on the time you spend on blending when you’re finished painting.

EASEL

4. It’s helpful to use an easel or table for your canvas. This will give you more control over the painting process and help prevent spills or accidents from happening on your floor or furniture.

When you’re starting out, use lots of colors and don’t worry too much about getting them perfect. You can always come back later and fix things that don’t work out!

REMEMBER: Don’t be afraid of acrylics! They are a great way to get started in painting because they dry quickly and don’t require your brushes or hands to be as wet. You can also paint with them on almost any surface (except metal).

Finally, remember that you’re not alone! I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way—it’s part of the process. My advice is always to keep trying new things and learning from each mistake until you find something that works for you!
